Should you buy the Lexmark X125 printer?
 

The Lexmark X125 is designed to replace your copy machine, fax, scanner and printer in one fell swoop. The Lexmark X125 prints 2400 X 1200 dpi and is priced at just over $100.  With output of 16 ppm in black and 8 ppm in text, this Lexmark printer has reasonable speed.

The Lexmark X125 utilizes a 33.6 kbps fax that sends and receives color as well as black and white pages. The X125 fax memory can store up to 80 pages.

The sheet fed scanner has a 600 x 1200 dpi optical resolution up to a 9600 dpi enhanced resolution. The Lexmark X125 can copy up to 12 ppm in black and white and 5 ppm in color.

The LCD screen of the Lexmark X125 is easy to use. You can copy up to 99 black or color copies. This Lexmark printer ships with a black printer ink cartridge, a color Lexmark ink cartridge, phone cords, and ViewAhead photo editing software

There appears to be two concerns about the Lexmark X125 printer. First, the longevity of the photo printing hasn’t stood the test of time. Second, in reading the reviews from over 20 owners, only 35% recommended buying the printer. That’s not a strong endorsement. Before you buy, I’d recommend you talk with someone you know that has used this Lexmark printer.
